Oxford Renaissance Festival 2025
On September 27th, 2025, our Embers team had the chance to attend the Oxford Renaissance Faire in Ontario, and what an unforgettable day it was! We drove about two hours to get there, settled into our booth, and finally saw months of preparation come to life. From planning the logistics to getting our merch ready on time and arranging everyone’s schedules, it took a lot of hard work just to be there for one day and it was absolutely worth it.
Throughout the faire, we connected with over 150 people, gained new followers and supporters on Instagram, and most exciting of all,
✨we surpassed our crowdfunding goal!✨
What truly made the day special, though, was the response we received from the community. Everything we set out to achieve with Embers — building a gritty, cinematic fantasy world with a woman at its center, facing a cruel world with strength and resilience — was reflected back to us in the feedback. People told us they loved the realness, the cinematography, and the acting. Mothers even pointed to our trailer, telling their kids, “Look, a badass woman fighter!”
That was inspiring beyond words…
For us, that connection is the biggest achievement of all. Hearing that our intentions came through so clearly and resonated with people reminded us why we started this journey in the first place. Embers is a Canadian short film, created by Toronto filmmakers who, like me, immigrated here to pursue a future in this industry. This growing success story belongs not only to our team but to everyone who has supported us along the way.
We are so grateful for the love and encouragement we’ve received, and with just 10 days left in our campaign, we’d love to invite even more people to join us.
The campaign is still running, and the more we raise, the more visibility and opportunities we’ll have to submit Embers to festivals, cover our costs, and share the film with a wider audience.
Every bit of support helps us share Embers with the world — and this is only the beginning.
